cheap things that save you tons of money

I was thinking today as I cut my 2 boys (and my) hair with some cheap ($20) wal-mart clippers how many thousands of dollars that they've save me since I bought them a decade ago...what are some others? These came to mind immediately.

1. A good tool set...I received a nice craftsman tool set for my wedding present from some friends (7 years ago). It's worked on 4 cars and several bicycles. Changed oil, the complete suspension on one, done routing maintenance and even helped swap an engine. They look brand new.

2. Birth Control...no explanation necessary

3. A good will from a reputable lawyer

4. A home inspection

any more?
