Nope just a continuation of buying our frenemies. We've been trying to buy friends for decades.

The sad thing that's like you or I buying lunch for friend. That amount if money doesn't even amount to pocket change to the fed.

lower gas prices put many Americans out of work Domestically.
It's pretty amazing that y'all don't seem to get that we have been paying Egypt and Israel 1000s of millions per year for decades not to go to war with each other. I know facts like this are a buzz-kill for a good Obama bash though.

Uhh... do you know what country Egypt is? They're pretty far down on the list of oil-producing countries. They produce less oil than Argentina. In 2011 we imported more oil from Latvia than we did from Egypt.

If you want to get outraged about how tax dollars are spent, get outraged about something that matters.

How did we survive the dark times when gas was $1 per gallon?

Bull**** ! Buying it from Mohamed costs American jobs!
`High gas and oil prices serve so many agendas on the Left, nothing is going to be done while the `Democrats` are in power.`
`High gas prices raise tax revenues. - in the short term.
Every time money changes hands, the government takes a cut, or tries to.
You buy gas, the government takes a piece. You buy product, the government takes a cut.
`If gas prices double, gas tax revenues double.
If fuel prices go up, the delivery price for the product goes up, the wholesale price goes up and the retail price goes up.
`The government gets a piece of each of these transactions. That means they collect EXTRA tax at all of these transactions and what is worse, it compounds down the chain as the costs are passed to the consumer.....That’s why the Liberals (Gov)likes high fuel prices...Control....

Fuel is taxed by the gallon. Taxes go down as prices rise. (To an extent)
The Feds don't have a sales tax

That's exactly my point. Cheap oil shuts down drilling rigs and cut American jobs.

And high oil prices have a cooling effect on the U.S. economy.
What the oil industry really wants more than anything is STABLE oil prices. Less volatility. Oil exploration and production are capital-intensive, long-term projects.

Heck yes. I have two friends on rigs in MT-WY and they need oil to be above a certain price to keep working. Buying to much cheap imported oil takes their jobs away

What are you missing?
The money given to Israel, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq...and who knows how many others.
And the $50 million spent on new TSA uniforms the eve if the sequester.
And the 2,700 armored vehicles for DHS at $?????? each.
The more you look the more you will see.
All borrowed from China, of course.
