Beautiful photos.
If I showed pictures here of Malibu, or the Miami coast, would people in other countries think thats what America looks like?

It depends on the people.
My photos are of the Málaga province of Andalucía. I imagine a lot of people will think that is what all of Spain looks like.

What do you mean Norton? It really is hard to encapsulate the essence of a place with a few (even dozens of) photos.

I can only say come and see for yourself, I´ve been coming here for 20 odd years (all over) and the towns are clean, beautiful especially in this region. Been living here almost a year.

I found some scans of my trip to Vitoria

Inside a bar...a lot fancier than what you find around here locally.

Somewhere in the area, don't remember exactly where.

Outside one of their upscale restaurants
 Inside said restaurant
Popular department store "El Corte Ingles".

How close to the Costa del Sol are you?
I got to spend a little time in Puerto Banus
I helped with the opening of the TGIFridays there back in 2000.
I'm not sure if it's still there or not, but I remember having a blast in the 4 weeks I was there.

I´m so sorry I missed your post. I am close to Torre del Mar and Nerja which are 15 minutes by car on the Costa del Sol, i´m inland a little bit close to the mountains.
Yeah TGI´s is out there, though there aren´t as many here there are more back home in Scotland, used to eat in the one in Glasgow a lot.

FNFALMAN you should try Jamon Bellota, delicioso.
Lassie my brother lived in Malaga for like a year after being released from prison in Cuba due to the Spanish government negotiations with the Castro regime to liberate political prisoners. I had been to Madrid, Barcelona, Mallorca and Santiago before, have lots of family there, but I found Andalucia the most beautiful province of Spain. My grandma was from Cadiz btw she used to call me el gato andaluz, lol. Saludos.

My favourite regions in Spain have to be Valencia, Andalucía, Asturias and Galicia. I love the Island of Mallorca too, I was practically raised there.

Yes, I know. But sometimes a reality check is in order.

Agreed. I was there a couple times in '85.

The week we spent there was one of the most relaxing in my life and I never felt any more threatened than I ever have felt here at home. From what I've heard, Costa del Sol is a lot different that other parts of the country. It's much like here in the US where there are large regional differences.

Very nice town. Very nice area.
I never been to Spain before, but my wife sure liked Barcelona.
I wouldn't mind to retire in such place (especially since we can legally live in any EU country anyway).
For the next little while however, I'm going to continue to ignore the Canadian winter.

Some photos from today, was a very pleasant 70ºF, we decided to go a nice 17 mile walk through the hills and rivers and take some photos. The Sierra Tejeda (La Morena) has some more snow today too.
