Starts out pretty much like superstition but the last suggestions are sound. I guess they need to give their people some feeling of being able to level the playing field with gadgets of their own.

Sooner or later the question of denying due process will end up in the supreme court. Drones being used as judge, jury and executioner really bother me.
The horribly misnamed "Patriot Act" bugs me too (pun not intended).
And now firearm freedom is under attack. Does somebody in Washington think The Constitution and Bill of Rights are just suggestions?

The thread isn't really about domestic drone use, but I'd say people are more concerned about aerial surveillance now because the technology has obviously come a LONG way and will be going further, and allows a far more invisible and far more pervasive surveillance network than could have been imagined in the past.

Can you explain to us how long a helicopter can stay in the air for surveillance? A Drone? What is the cost difference to perform 24 hours of continuance aerial surveillance using "standard" technologies vs 24 continuous with a drone. How obvious is say a helicopter watching someone vs a drone?
There are VERY large differences.

Rumor has it that even drones with the most sophisticated optic sensors can't see under a blue tarp!
Heck, I must have 10 of them already in place around the yard to cover things up. They'll never figure out which one I'm hiding under!!

There are VERY large differences.

Possibly true although when time duration is necessary a fixed wing aircraft could/would be used which can substantialy increase time available.

 That's great. Just make sure you establish a nice blue tarp fort held together of course with duct tape!
ON a serious note, I would imagine taking a drone out would be akin to taking out a police officer-big trouble! 
I can't see why any civilian would want creepy drones in the sky. There is a dragonfly sized drone thath can enter a low power surveilence state and be active for days. It just posts up somwere inconspicuous and spys on you. I guess it's the same sheeple who don't mind mandatory inspections from the police cause "they ain't got nothin' to hide." 
Leave me the hell alone!

Horrible thing when the perp gets hold of the LEO's gun
in an altercation.
Same applies here. It can, and will, happen. They forget
there probably are people out here already working on
getting control of these things.

That trick with stratigicaly placed socks didn't work out for me 30 years ago (tight jeans times),
so don't think it will do me any good under a tarp either!!

Umm, the drones are not judge, jury, and executioner. Its the guy behind the stick and his commanders who do that. Don't blame the tool for the crimes.

Preds fly at 14,000 or so feet. How high can your helo get?
