Sounds like Joe never fired a shotgun. Recoil is a lot more than from an Ar. Also, You do have to aim a shotgun, just like any firearm.

I just named my Stoeger Coach gun "Uncle Joe".
It's the Patriotic thing to do.
Makes the gun court proof, too.

Seriously, it wouldn't be my first choice of home defense gun, but, for many situations, it would be up to the task.
And it is now court proof!

And I do have a shotgun. He wouldn't like it, though (Saiga 12). Should I put my 10 round mags in it, or my 20 round drum?

I'm sure Uncle Joe would like my scoped 11-87 shooting 3" 12GA 300g .50 cal sabot HP rounds. Very accurate at 100yds and closer! Really cranks out the 00 Buck also.

Soooo... instead of a precision engineered piece of equipment that requires a particular type of ammo, he'd rather I have a hardy tube that I can accelerate to lethal velocities just about anything I can get into it?

Have you seen some of the high tech shotgun rounds in existence today?
Little interesting things that go far (some intelligently) and do crazy things.
Yummy - fleche rounds, nothing like a fine red mist.
Mini flashbangs? yeppers.
Tiny smoke? that's out too.
The things people have thrown down a shotgun tube range from the lowest tech to the highest tech of projectile ammo in man-portable form.
I had no idea biden was so barbaric.
