New Gen 4 G19 Grip Question?
Just added a gen4 G19 to the stable. It came with 4 replaceable backstraps. 2 M one with a beavertail one without. 2 L one with beavertail one without. My edc gun is a gen 3 26. My question is what strap size will get me closest to the grip characteristics of my gen3 26?

Yep medium is supposed to be for the Gen 1,2,3 grip size.

Was it a new gun or used? Sounds like it is used and came with Grip Force Adapters that someone was trying out. Gen 4 models only come with 1 medium and 1 large backstraps as far as I have know.

The medium is on my Gen4 19, and I left it as is.
Perfect fit.

Suggest you use the beavertail. People using the M and L backstraps have had problems with slide bite. I had to buy add ons from Gripforce to save the knuckle at the base of my thumb. YMMV. Enjoy the gun.

Shot some today with the medium grip w/o beavertail. Didn't have any issues with slide bite, and I have big hands. Haven't had issues with my 26 either. I can't even get my hand high enough to get slide bite if I try.

I've got big hands and use a high grip, so if I'm really not careful, the slide rubs against the bottom of my thumb causing a mark that often bleeds. Not fun for longer range sessions.

Must be a new thing, my Gen 4 G19 that was born on 10/10/12 didn't have them.

very nice. can you get a picture from the back? I'm trying to see how it mates up with the current frame below the slide.

I'll try to tomorrow. There is something that kinda clips where the beavertail meets the gun right under the slide.

There's an extra bump that it clips over. I think it would work without the extra hump on the earlier Gen4‘s.
I'm chomping at the it to find one to try on my g32/19 gen4. (Hint hint, Mtneer Man)
Here's a pic of the large beavertail on my new G17, picked up today. 1/18/13 test fire date. It solves my slide rub issues completely and makes it much more friendly to shoot.

I just bought a gen4 19 yesterday. It was manufactured on 3/14/13. It has the little hump on the frame behind the slide but no beavertail backstraps in my box. So I call Glock yesterday and ask if there was any way that I could get a set for mine. I was told that they haven't shipped any 19/23/32s with the beavertails yet. I reluctantly argued that answer. I was told " I don't know what to tell you,but they haven't shipped any yet". So I wrote Glock an email today and sent a few pictures to let them know what they are shipping out. ;-)

I've bought a G21 and a G19, both gen 4's, in the past two months. The 19 has the beavertail straps, but the 21 doesn't.

I go with the gen4 if no other reason than the extra mag. That being said, I'm now saving my money to get a G26.
