Today is the day for me to figure out what to get my wife for Valentine's Day. I hate this day.

Technically I think that day was yesterday.
I asked my wife what she wanted and she said "nothing, lets just go out to dinner". This AM I've got candy and several new shirts sitting on my desk. Not fair at all.

You should know by now that when she says "nothing" she means the opposite. Just like when she says "Fine, go ahead. I don't care".

You're gonna get it... or actually, you might not get any. Depending on how it goes.

Yeah, I am scrambling a bit to get something together myself; started seeing this girl just recently, and I hadn't really planned for this, lol.

steak, oysters and champaign here - do it your self way, not restaurant. Cheaper and funnier.

Dump them the day before. It is cheaper and you don't have to buy junk for another 'Hallmark holiday'.

Well I ended up driving across town and buying a lunch platter from Chick fila and taking it to her work and dropping it off. She was very happy. Crisis averted.
For now.

Oh hell no. She doesn't like to receive ammo that she can't shoot.
Guess I could buy me a doghouse while I'm there.

They've got other stuff there.....
Isn't there some famous bakery there? I see the signs when on the rare chance I take 35 to Dallas....... I usually try and stay off there.....

We have a Collins Street Bakery but I've never eaten there. The main one is in Corsicana. I'm not big into sweets like that. That one off the I-35 is a few blocks from where I work as a paramedic.
Granted Wal-Mart is open 24 hours so I might have to make a trip there tonight after she gets home.

Don't blame you one bit. I-35 is a nightmare on a good day but it's nothing but construction right now.

If I thought I might get it, I would have bought diamonds.

I was teaching a merit badge class to a bunch of Boy Scouts on Wed night. One of them asked me to tell them a cool story & then another one said " yeah, pretend we're the media and we're interviewing you"... so I put my hand up and walked out of the room for a second. They didn't get it

btw did I mention that I am thinking about spending my birthday in the US?
I am not really sure yet. March 31-April 11th is the plan. Sadly I probably wont be able to stay at my friends place because his mother has health problems and she is an old lady.
So I am thinking about using airbnb to find me a place to stay - that also means I could stay anywhere, as long as the flight is quite cheap. Still an expensive birthdayvacation, but sounds nice.
Thinking about Miami, SF, LA. Would prefer LA or SF to meet my friends again, but Miami sounds so nice..

Do it a couple of weeks later and you will hit Spring Break. That could prove interesting. Ok, maybe not in a good way. Alright then I would keep those dates you have. That might be best.
