Spherical Buffer (PSB) Questions

Folks,

I purchased some of this Spherical Buffer (PSB) a long time ago while reloading rifle cartridges. I never used it having thought that I wasn't sure if it was safe or not. I was under the impression it was used like a filler. Can anyone elaborate on its use? Anyone here use it?

Thanks,

Steve

I have never used it. Heck, I have never even heard of it!

But Google knows how to find out about it:

I suppose if you are loading very light rifle loads, probably with cast bullets, there is some application. I don't load anything like that. In fact, the cases are usually pretty full of powder.

That is used in shotgun hunting loads. Has no use for handgun or rifle loading.

Is that what they used for fill when loading larger pelleted shells, to fill in the gaps between the pellets and to limit the number of pellets, yet still fill the case evenly?

Yep. But itís not to limit the pellets. Itís to help cushion them so that the pellets are not deformed. Along with the shot cup wads.
