How should the dot look on a TRS-25?

How should the dot look on this new TRS-25? It is not really a circle and does not have a super crisp appearance. Is this the nature of a budget optic? Or is it time to call bushnell?

I will post a pic when I get a chance.

Thanks guys.

Interestingly enough, I think it's my eyes. The illuminated dot reflecting through my contacts maybe?

The picture shows a crisp, clear dot Click image for larger version

I find that red dots rarely look round unless they are turned way, way down. I have compared notes with others, and I think everyone's eyes see them a tad differently, and that they distort just slightly for everyone to some degree. Sometimes they seem to look more that way when you are examining them, but seem to look perfect at the range, which I think is because you are focusing at a distant target rather than the dot itself at close ranges.

Mine is blobbish when turned up. Still, I love the sight, it works great.

If you have astigmatism, it usually doesn't appear round.

Mine occasionally looks oblong.
Just a change in eye trying to figure out what to focus on.
I don't seem to notice it as bad when shooting.

I am also in denial about needing glasses.

I hear a LOT of guys talk about how the dots are not completely round. Most of them don't realize that it's due to their own eyes that cause this, however, I think you realize this. When in doubt, ask someone with perfect vision.

The dot always looked perfect to me, but I also have perfect 2020 vision. My TRS-25 looked perfect. I'm betting my new fastfire does, too ... Ill let cha know!

Very true, if I shoot without my glasses the dot in my Aimpoint appears to be a bunch of grapes, put my glasses on and it's a perfect dot. And I have really bad astigmatism.

The GOOD news is, if you're shooting and get hungry..... have some grapes

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I know.... but just couldn't help it.

Click the image to open in full size.

Back on topic, my Ultradot has 'flare' to it even when I'm wearing glasses.

Just wondering, do you guys focus on the dot or the target?
When i focus on the dot its misshapen, but if i focus on the target the dot is a circle with fuzzy edges.
