Kansas. I don't think that there is more than a 5 foot change of elevation across the entire state.

Haven't yet found a state that doesn't have some nice bits. Even a small state like RI is a reasonably big chunk of real estate.

That said, I will say that if Oklahoma has a nice part, I didn't come across it when I drove through.

Right! It's only three miles, and that's because of the tree.

Living in the Midwest, I've been to alot of places around here. Omaha Nebraska probably cuts the cake for me, a whole lot of boring IMO.

Funny!

Believe it or not Kansas has some nice scenery IMO. I'll take my Kansas cornfield views over any big city/new York views any day!

I remember seeing some research to determine if Kansas is actually flatter than a pancake.

Wisconsin. Too much Packers paraphernalia for me. They plaster that logo on absolutely everything.

Living near KC, don't really have that problem with the chiefs logo, see it every one in a while, but i think most are afraid to to display it....

I drove in ND once, and the entire drive from 3 miles out of the airport to about 8 miles from my hotel ( 7-10 mile run) smelled like total and complete butt crack. The vehicle AC was on "recirculate" but the smell was overpowering.

Our driver explained to us we were in meat processing country.

Still it is very beautiful country, and I did make the acquaintance of a really very intelligent, pretty and talented lady out there, when we hooked up months later I discovered she was a most outstanding headmistress.

On my return visit it was a loooooong drive in from Winnipeg. Some of the most beautiful parts of the country.

In summary, I've been to every state, at least 3 times, including Hawaii, and all of them have their great pluses - including NJ, which is the only state in the nation where every county is classified as "urban".

Nevada. Looks like close to half of the state has “for sale” sign on it and more then half of Las Vegas. Even “Da Strip” has a huge hole in it full of abandoned construction.
Scary looking place.

Anything north of Texas and west of Arkansas, excepting the western seaboard. I appreciate these states and their contribution to agriculture--or I did when they grew something other than corn and soybeans. But they have NOTHING ELSE going for them. Build a dam and flood that entire part of the country, then build hydroponic farms on the water. There would be no loss.

What exactly do you mean? States to the north of Tx and west of AR are awful? The exception being the pacific states?

I have not been fortunate to have been to every state, but every state I have been to has had some beauty, joy, and inspiration for me. I will readily admit there are some I would not be as quick to make as my home, but that may be because I am not as familiar with all the good aspects of them.

If it wasn't for the winters, I'd be living in North Dakota right now.

NYC in NY. It's nice to visit...
A few weeks ago my wife and I drove in with her sister/BIL from NJ. We wanted to see the 911 Memorial. BIL got a good parking spot and we began walking in. Soon we were in the funnel, and I saw the 'no guns/pocketknives' signs...
I stashed my little Kershaw in my shoe...
then we rounded the last turn and it's a full on airport magnetron.
I pulled out the knife and held it up to security, the lady at the gate said ask the cop on the other side for it. I was hoping for an amnesty bag or what not.
He says "This is illegal in NYC. Are you PD/FIRE/US soldier"? I reply that I'm not. He says he can confiscate it or we can call involve the police. I tell him to enjoy the pocketknife I've carried for a good ten years. Wanted to tell him that back home in Reasonableville I carry a gun, but followed the GT rule and kept my mouth shut.
We got back to the car (our rental), BIL parked just into a bus zone, the city got us for a $150 parking ticket and a $40 pocketknife. I won't get into the bill at NOBU but my sister in law is never to order dinner again. Ever.

The entire country could do without any state north of Pennsylvania, and California.

I used to drive an 18 wheeler and I've been in every state in the union, including Hawaii and Alaska while in the military.

ALL of New England sucks the big one.

I have NO use for any of those socialist states and their little fascist kingdoms.
