I was at the LGS the other day and saw a g34 and thought it looked great. Have a 26 and 17 and think they are great. I don't do competition, just target practice for self defense. The 34 would be a bed side gun probably.
What is a good price for one with standard sights and what is the hole on the slide, near the muzzle, for?

I believe the hole is to lighten the slide so the gun functions properly. The slide weight would then approximate a model 17??

Definitely go with the G34 Gen4! Just be careful, because you may be lured into picking up its evil twin:
Or, you may be tempted to finish out your 9x19 lineup:

I envy your gen 4 line up...my only gen 4 is my 17. I have well used gen 3 19, and a new gen 3 34 as well. I had a gen 3 23 and sold it off today.
I had plans on picking up a gen 4 19 tomorrow...but decided I needed to pay off some bills first.

If you paid 640 for one then I guess 600 is a good deal for the one I found. I think it is a gen 3 though, I didn't check the back strap.

For what ever its worth, "I talked with three different people at Glock last week and all of them told me that Glock was working around the clock and running at full capacity. However, because the supply chain has been virtually depleted, I was told they were running 3-4 months behind for orders placed just by the distributors. The Glock food chain flows as follows….distributors first, stocking dealers buying directly from Glock second, non-stocking dealers last. Could be July/August before any amount of reasonable inventory is available.
Feel free to pass along." An email I received from my local Tics manager who received it from another FFL

I got Gen4 G34 and Gen 4 G35, too. G35 has been perfect out of the box, but subject to recall. Glock changed the slide and I had no problems before and after recall. My G34 is made in Nov 2012 and it throws empties all over my body and in the head... I had Gen 3 G34 for IDPA competition for years, never had a problem with it. Go figure.
