Anybody have a Graffunder safe?

Just curious. Does it live up to it's reputation?

Thinking of getting one.

I do. I've had it since 1999 - it's one of the older, slightly lighter-weight models at a mere 800lbs. 5.5' tall x 24" wide x 30" deep, maybe? I'd need to check to be sure.

It's been fantastic. Solid, worked well, and I love how the fittings are tight enough you can hear the air 'whoosh' as the door closes. I have a dial lock, though I often wish I had an electronic one for convenience, I haven't had it swapped, as I don't really trust the electronic ones.

Any specific questions? I've been happy with mine, though I guess I can't say that it's defeated well-equipped burglars, or anything. It sits there in my basement, doing its job.

I did. Then I sold my Graffunder and got rid of the safe, too.

(Never heard of it.)

i used to work at a lock shop that sold them. sold and delivered a few myself. awesome quality, and fit. they are truly a safe. all the other ones, liberty, fort knox, browning, etc and technically security containers. they lock up and hold stuff, but are not a true safe.

a low end B rate graffunder is well worth the money, and worlds better than what most others call a safe.

I need to go check one out in person rather than online. I need real security. Not these "safes" that are sturdy sheet metal.

Mine is one that they made before they moved to all safes being 'rated', so it's a bit below what they're making now. It's all 3/8 or better steel plate. No sheet metal involved.

At 800lbs, it's a relative lightweight, but it's clearly a small/lightweight SAFE, rather than a jumped up locker with notions of grandeur.

I'll try to take a couple pics tonight, and show some of the build.
