Mag pouches - Grenade holders?
Hi all,
I just picked-up some GI surplus magazine pouches. They hold three 30-round mags, and have loops on the sides to hold grenades. Obviously, I have no grenades to carry in these loops, but I wondered if the "cool kids" have thought of a secondary use for these loops? If not, I'll just cut them off. Just thought I'd check first.
Thanks!

You might be able to stick some cleaning supplies (bottle of lube, etc) in there, or perhaps a pack of gauze or an Israeli bandage.

I haven't found a use for the loops yet, but I leave them on in hopes that one day an idea will come to mind

if you have one of those old green plastic army flash lights, they fit in there well. you can also use them to hold a pair of work gloves or stick in a roll of tape.

Roll of Kerlix can fit in there but it won't always stay.
Except on the rare occasions I 'did' get frags the loops were basically useless. We issues a lot less hand grenades these days, but those loops were a reaction to the WW2/Korea 'use the spoon' idea to stick them on your gear where they'd fall off. Modern tac gear has frag pouches (which have a multitude of uses) instead.

The really cool kids typically get inert grenades and hang them on.

I used to attach a snap link there and hang my gloves from it.

Get some of those fake M67 frag grenades and put them in the pouches.
