If things go right I will be moving to Abbeville for a new helo job. Can you guys recommend any good ranges in Abbeville, Lafayette and New Iberia area.

It's a little bit of a drive but sherburne wma has a rifle pistol and shotgun range. Bring your own targets. Shotgun range has some skeet throwers although they are old and many don't work.

I used to live in Louisiana.

There is a great "private" rifle, pistol, skeet and trap range in Baton Rouge (about 75 miles from where you're moving). Very nice outdoor range. Been in business a long time. About $200 a year in dues plus hourly shooting fee.

Sherburne WMA is nice but it is openly public and you get a lot of yahoos out there sometimes.

Are you going to fly for PHI?

I live in Lafayette. There is an indoor range across the street from where I work. Barney's police supply. Nice folks and open to the public.

Check out the Fusilier outdoor club in Arnaudville. That would probably be about an hour from you.
