I've tried using their junk just to prove myself correct. Optic mounts, optics, etc., garbage.

Put mine on the front left in a position where my left thumb is in perfect position to operate it. Very intuitive to use in this orientation.
By the way, bo tach Tactical has the new TLR-1s (strobe) for $108. It is 300 lumen compared to the original TLR-1 having 160 lumen (or there abouts). Very nice light for the money. Love my original, the new one is even better.

That's a real good postion for the light. I just have to figure out how to mount it with the stock handguard. Will probably end up going in the bottom.

This is how I mounted mine. I wanted to put it on a bayonet lug rail adapter but didn't want it getting that hot. Anyway. It's just a magpul add-a-rail type thing.
