Academy institutes 3 box limit
Yesterday i was at Academy outdoors and they told me i could only buy 3 boxes of ammo and they all had to be different calibers. They had 100 round box of remington 22lr and monarch 50 round boxes of 9mm and 40.The monarch 9mm monarch was $16.00 for a box of 50.Dont remember what the 40 was.I ended up buying 100 rounds of 22lr, wasn't going to pay $16.00 for 50 rounds of 9mm.

I can see the 3 box limit but 3 different calibers is a little harsh. They are just trying to do what they think is best to keep as many of their customers happy as possible.
The stores keep having one or two guys buy up all the ammo as soon as it hits the shelves, thus pissing off other customers.
Go to a local Cabelas store on a Sat or Sun morning right when they open. As soon as they open the doors there will be a stampede to gun area.
I was at a local shop the other day picking up a gun. They had a few boxes of small pistol primers. I could have bought them all because they are scarce and you can never have too many SPP. I just bought one box because there were not that many and no doubt others needed some. It would be nice if others would do the same.

Its better than WalMart. They have a 1 box per customer PERIOD. Other than the practice shotgun loads they have on the counter.
Its not like I need ammo though, I just wanted a box of Stingers of Velocitors in .22LR (all my Walmart has now are shorts).

My wal-mart has not been limiting anyone. Was at wal-mart today and the lady said whenever they get some ammo in one guy usually buys the whole lot at once. Part of the reason for the limits.

I think that rule at Academy applies only to 9mm, .40, .45, .22lr, .223/5.56 and 7.62x39. Maybe 1 or 2 others (.380?). They're doing the same with some mags (PMags, etc.) at 1 per customer. I should have taken a picture of the new signs. I know they've been having people camping out half the night on weekdays. Hey, if someone could get a basket full of PMags, they could flip them for $40 or $50 a piece and make a good profit. I think they're still selling for $17 or so.

My guess is enough complaints to the manager would put this limit in place. I am not against it at all becuase I believe everyone should have the right to have at least one box of ammo without having to reach for their ankles to buy it.

Went to the range yesterday. They have a one box/customer limit. But that is one box per caliber per customer. A gun shop that I frequent has a one brick/500 rd. limit on .22 LR ammo and not limits on any other calibers. Cool.

My NH WM is not limiting anyone yet because they do not have ANY CF ammo.
