I like sardines in mustard sauce or louisianna hot sauce. Even better are the fish steaks in louisianna hot sauce.

I'll never forget the attitude I got from my ex-wife when I picked can up once when we first started going out. she called Vienna sausages and Spam white trash food and refused to let me buy them.

It was one of those signs I wish I had paid attention too. The misery it would have saved me.

My Dad loved that stuff, spread it on Ritz crackers. It looked and tasted like shortening mixed with catfood to me.

Unfortunatly he dined on it just before embarking on a family ocean fishing excursion.

I distinctly remember the look on his face after he hurled his snack overboard and I turned to my brother and exclaimed, "Alright! Dads chumming the water. We'll catch lots of fish now!"

Horrible gushy little hotdogs. Not even good ones. Tried some to see if i wanted to add to preps. Thats about the only time id choke some down, huddled in a cold basement surviving armageddon. After the sample was gone never bought any others. Much better alternatives.


Potted meat? Thats the generic name for underwood deviled ham which is actually pretty good. The chicken spread is even better! That, DAK ham and bacon flavored spam are my designated bomb shelter foods.

Mix one can of Underwood Deviled Ham and one package of cream cheese and eat with raw veggies, ummmmm!
Vienna sausages and saltines, good breakfast when you're outdoors - or anywhere for that matter.

They're an acquired taste. Great lunch snack when deer hunting.

Tried some Armor Chicken Viennas tonight. Was starving when I got home and knew I wouldn't last until supper. Terrific! Even drank the juice. Yum!

Sardines are great. King Oscar's are the best. But as I've gotten older I need to sop up some of the olive oil before putting them in a sandwich.

Kippered Herring is another winner. Love it on toast with a slice of Jalapeno Jack cheese.
