Hello Everyone,

I ordered a Remington 870P and it's due to be in my hands next week and am thinking about putting a magazine extension on it.

Can anyone tell me the difference between these two extensions?

They both say they are factory Remington extensions, but one is half the price of the other?

I wouldn't recommend any of those. I prefer the Wilson Combat (Scattergun Tech) extension. I like not scratching up my barrel with a clamp. Here it is on my 870.

The Golden Rule of upgrades is don't put ****ty parts on your gun. You wouldn't intentionally do that, would you?

A well-made extension from a good company does not a require a clamp to hold it in place so don't buy a crappy one in the first place. The Remington extension works but it is overly complicated and contains too many parts.

Buy your extension from someone good like Vang, Scattergun, Nordic or S&J Hardware and call it a day. I use the Vang on my 870P and am very pleased with it. It's a "Set it and forget it" kind of part.

I am surprised that none of you recommend the factory Remington extension.

Skip the extensions. Get a Speedfeed +4 stock and Surefire forend first.

Aren't 870Ps a lot more expensive than a regular 870 express or even a Mossberg 590a1?
