Shoot a G23 better than G22

I've found I shoot my gen 3 Glock 23 better than the gen 2 Glock 22. I'm not sure why, I would think the larger pistol would be easier to shoot. Anyone else experience this?

Exactly! I think it may have to do with the grip. I'm able to keep the sights aligned easier with the 23. Also find I can shoot offhand easier than with my 22.

Same for me, and it happens with quite a few different pistols. Glockwise, the G26 and G30 both shoot really well, and they are smaller versions of the full size pistols.

A couple of questions:

How well do you shoot, period? A fairly accurate gauge of this is group size from a static, two handed standing position.
Is the connector (and thus trigger pull) the same in both guns?
Last, and also least influential, are the sights stock?

No experience with the Gen2 G22 but I do seem to shoot my Gen4 G23 better than my Gen3 G22-which I sold some time ago.

I should note that I have had the same experience with the G19 vs G17(both Gen3s.)

Everyone's different.

I shoot my G35 accurately, then my G27 and my G23; with a G22 least. Everyone has their own preference. Hand size is a factor.

I shoot my 19 slightly better than my 17. The extra length at the end of the 17 grip is worthless to me as my hand fits the 19 perfectly. However, I do enjoy the two extra rounds.

If I may also ask you both the same question; as I approach shooting from a very scientific and methodical based perspective...

What distances, what group size, how many rounds per group...and are you shooting from a static two handed position, unsupported?

I have taken other people's guns recently at the range (2x G23v4, 1xG26v3), shot them and told them their guns needed to be looked at. All three of these guns were grouping for me at 7-10" at 45ft. When I put my G26 or G23 in their hands they shot better, and I shot my own guns in the 2-4" group range. Also their guns from bench rests confirmed my suspicions - never did get a chance to check the guns out myself though.

For me at least, I think it's easier to get a more consistent grip on the 23 than the 22. The 22 feels like there is too much stock, whereas my hand just seems to fall into the same place every time with the 23. I even tried adding the slip on grips to help aide finger placement but it just seemed to make the grip too fat.

Ok, but if you are shooting slowly and purposefully "grip" should have little or no impact on how you shoot. If you tell me that for rapid fire, or double tap you are more accurate with one model over the other...I would eat that up.

...but this...I dunno. How well do you shoot the gun you shoot better with?

I have always LOVED my 23 over my 22, so rather than being a safe queen I sold the 22 to put the money back in the bank.................... Than I took the money and bought a G30

Yes, I feel I shoot the G23 better than the G22. I believe the shorter slide has something to do with it, less "whippy".

Does the G23 feel better (more balanced, etc) in your hands compared to the G22 or do the results from shooter the G23 best the results from the G22?

Mine is what you would typically expect... I shoot my 35 better than my 22 better than my 23 better than my 27...

Distances: 5-7-15-20 yards. GSSF experienced.
Group size: quarter sized to fist sizes when moving the target out. Example: had to pull this out from my old pics...@15 yards...

Stance: Modified Weaver, unsupported.
