Factory barrel and an extension from someone repuitable such as Scattergun or Vang, among others. I have the Vang on mine and it's tough little *****, just like Bea Arthur.

Mine came with the Remington factory extension. It's never had an issue with feeding, so I'll vote Remington. Though Wilson Combat/Scattergun Tech also make a good one.
I vote Remington for the barrel as well.

I accidentally bought a mossberg barrel for one of my Wingmaster 870s and it seems to run fine. Yes, it is actually a mossberg replacement barrel for an 870 (who knew). It was cheaper than the Remington one. And has a better finish on it, more like a matt black. Go figure. I think all my extensions are Remington though.

im thinking a 18 inch barrel, a 2 round extension, and a pistol gripped speedfeed stock with a mesa tactical rail/side saddle will be awesome.

If you haven't checked it out already check out magpuls line of 870 accessories. I like them so much I want to get another 870 and have 2 set up with the magpul furniture.

So Brownells is selling an after market barrel for $187 that you can simply call Remington at 800-243-9700, follow the prompts to parts and order for the OEM Barrel for $155.
Why is it that people don't know that they can order parts from Remington? I know Brownells and Midway sure don't want you know and they jack up the prices to take advantage of it.

I've got the Remington +2 myself and really like it. No issues what so ever. Factory barrel also as others have suggested

I use a scattergun technologies (Wilson) 2 shot extension and and Remington 18" rem-choke barrel. I like that it can accept chokes, and comes with a breacher choke...which isn't really a choke at all. The one I had before was a regular cylinder bore 18" but I learned quick I wanted one that I can put a tighter choke in.
If you're alright with not being able to change out chokes, Remington makes a 18" with night sights on it.
