switched agencies-new belt. I'm happy safariland makes a small flashlight holder for the maglite XL-50 (pictured here wrapped with a few rubber bands).

I was getting things ready for rotation to days tomorrow and thought I'd post up my rig. Looks like I'll be adding a taser soon, so I've got to figure out how to rearrange things to make it fit... Kinda hate to do so since I've had my belt arranged this way since the academy.

Same here. We are getting X2's and they are absolutely HUGE. I should be able to keep a similar arrangement but I'll probably slide my radio farther toward the back and put the Taser where the radio was. I can foresee the Tasers grip hitting my baton if I carry it cross-draw. Policy states that the ECD be carried on the support side but it's up to the individual to carry it cross-draw for strong side or non for support-side use.
With my 32" waist, it's a challenge putting anything else on my belt. I still don't have OC...I wouldn't know where to put it! I'm not about to put my cuffs on the back...things are nice and comfy with them riding up front, thank you.

I don't have much waist room to work with, but my X26 carries fine on the left hip with a V70 flashlight holster and makes in "front" of it and a porta-clip radio holder and MK-III spray "behind it. The OC is about even with the outside edge of the left rear pants pocket, so there is nothing in my back, really.

The foot print on the built is really not much larger than the X26.

Anybody have a good line on a holder for a streamlight protac?
I love the flashlight for a back up an what not but the factory nylon pouch leaves much to be desired.

From what I've learned in the Boston bombing threads, you must always have a warrant. For anything.

Can you switch from cuff cases to cuff straps? That could free up some room.

Updated belt. Last change until we get new guns.

You could possibly move your mag pouch more in front of you, and put it between that and your radio.

You guys have digital desert camo floor pattern in your locker room? Very tacticool.
Also, very unusual to see a department go with open top holsters, even with security measures. That's just something you will never see out here.
And... get some night sights on that Glock!

Missouri Troopers have open top holsters as well. I'm not super satisified with my 6280s security. Speaking of, I need to update the photo of my rig.

We use Safariland 6390s as standard issue.

Yeah good ol 70s tile!

Yeah I don't know if I'm a big fan of it yet. I strongly dislike that it's open top and it seems like it would be easy to grab from behind if I'm not paying attention. The release button is very obvious and open. Time will tell if I keep it or try to convince the admin to go with something else.

We're getting gen 4s whenever they arrive from the distributor. I'm hoping they will have night sights but not holding my breath as that would cost extra money and admin didn't even want to spend it in the first place...

I'd actually prefer plain nylon but admin said no to that. This stuff looks decent in real life and hopefully will stay nicer looking longer. We had Safariland plain leather before this and after a year or so it would start looking like Crap around the edges.

Don't think for a minute that the baddies don't know how to disarm and take guns out of every type of duty holster we have. The more we can put in their way, the better. I have the 6285 and I put the hood guard and the sentry lever on top of the SLS to give me all the protection I need.

Trust me, I'd go with a 6360 if I could, especially transporting inmates, but we're only allowed single-retention holsters. Stupid, I know.

I think the thumb drive has an attachment called the "chop block" for added retention.

For those of you who cross-draw carry your Taser...I implore you to consider weak-hand carry. We go through yearly force-on-force training here that highlights the weakness of crossdraw. For instance this year our UoF trainers gave us all a roleplay scenario where we respond to a "suspicious person" call which when you arrive, you find a guy working on a truck. During the course of the scenario he becomes aggravated to the point where everyone draws their Taser on him to give him commands. As you are giving commands, his partner runs out from behind cover and starts engaging you in a gunfight.
Every single person that crossdraw carried their Taser died in the scenario. I'm no expert and I don't claim to be, but I feel this could be in large part to a lack of pre-planning on their part. What would you do? Would you reholster the Taser and draw your gun? Those who did took 7-8 rounds before they could draw their gun. Those who simply dropped the Taser took 5-6 rounds before they could draw their gun.
Those of us who weak-side carried our Tasers only took 1 to 2 rounds before we were able to draw our firearm and engage the threat. There were some who "died" that weak carried also so I'm not saying it's the end all be all. I'm just saying it is my opinion you should re-consider your method of carrying. If you insist on crossdraw, please mentally rehearse this scenario and your response. Not knowing what you'll do will cause you to reholster your Taser which is a cluster****. Going over what you will do (ie dropping the Taser) beforehand will save you valuable time. The critics will say "what about sympathetic trigger pull"? What about it? If you deploy your Taser on accident while engaging a lethal threat, does it matter? I'm not saying gunfight the lethal threat and Taser the nonlethal

Without having been there, I think that part of the solution is not spending a bunch of time pointing a Taser at somebody. I know that we have overdependence issues in my agency, to the point that I have seen people clear buildings with the damned thing. I am more and more of the opinion (and I am a Taser and Firearms instructor) that the Taser should generally be drawn and fired unless there is sufficient lethal cover and a plan. It simply does not offer enough benefit over other options to engage in a drawn out series of commands in a one-on-one scenario.
