I will say the range I go to has a lot of members so it's not like CT is totally liberal. If around the central/northern central of CT shoot me a PM if interested in checking out the range I belong to.

most of the ar's I have are "Mass compliant" from our move from there a couple years ago. I have a couple things for sale locally that aren't, that'll go before we move.
We're looking about 30 minute commute to North Haven, have our realtor checking out Cheshire, Woodbury, Southington, Southbury...
but open to most with good schools and "affordable" .

Tehan2 -
JMHO
Cheshire, a little stuck up. Have a good friend that lives there. Expensive town, very yuppie/preppie, have met a lot of people from there who think their s&*t doesn't stink. A lot of anti-gun liberals living there, including the new congresswoman for the 5th district. She's one of those "why do you need more than 1 bullet in a gun?" type of people.
Southington, blue collar town, kind of densely populated, lots of shopping available.
Woodbury, nice small town, friendly people. You have to go to Southbury or Watertown for any decent shopping.
Southbury, low taxes - Heritage Village has about 6000+ retired folks living there that pay property tax but don't have kids in the schools. Region 15 school system is outstanding....although Cheshire and Region 14 (Woodbury) are too. Southbury has all the shopping centers adjacent to 84 but you can drive 5 minutes and be in the country.
If you do settle in the area and you're looking for a good gun club - http://www.nwcsa.org
About 45 minutes from Southbury/Woodbury/Cheshire, probably about the same from Southington too.

Asheville is nice but it's a big liberal town. They're trying to get gun shows banned in the city limits.
Lot's of other places in the area though.
All the Best,

If I were to ever move from Arizona, it would be for eastern Tennessee or the research triangle area of North Carolina.

My house is going up for sale this spring and I'm finally gonna GTFO of CT... I'm looking into NC/SC/TN/FL/AZ/NV... I'll probably have to lease something here for one more year so I can decide on a state and get all the logistics worked out... This state truly has nothing to offer that's worth the price of admission...

Check out Orange. We have one of the best school districts in the state (from what I've heard) and are smack dab in the middle of Rt.15 and I-95. Take your pick, it's a 15-20 min commute to North Haven. I also know of a guy with a fully remodeled, move-in-ready raised ranch for sale...

Not to derail the thread by any means, but could you post a picture of that sign if you happen to pass by it again? Best of luck finding a good place to settle, I'm looking at new places myself.

Bull****. I'm a Texan born and bred and only left three years ago. Plenty of fine conservative and libertarian folks, but the moochers is why I left. I saw the writing on the wall. However, I digress from the OP's thread, leave CT ASAP and my apologies, good air.
Dallas= gay, lesbian sheriff. Sounds pretty lib to me and Nobody wants to live in Dallas proper for the crime.
San Antonio= huge Hispanic populace that votes en bloc for democrats
Houston= see San Antonio
Texas is a good place but is losing ground quickly.

I would move from CT without hesitation. NC is nice, so is Tennessee.

Any rural area near civilization. Pick a state with no income tax.

That sign you saw is not a CT problem, it's the country. But it's still a good idea to leave there.
We have reached the tipping point and gone over it.
