I agree. We live in a small sub-division with only one way in or out. If someone (usually young) is speeding and I'm outside, I just roll a garbage can into the street in front of them. Once is usually enough. When all our kids were young we used to get turfed a lot because we live on a corner and it was the "fun" thing to do. I would wait until twilight and anchor boards with nails facing up almost every night one Summer. We never got turfed again although one asshat had to have his car towed after all his tires were flat.

I can't get back to your post, but I think you said you were speeding over the limit. You were in the wrong and should accept any Barney Fife's "citizens arrest".

I was just relieved that it wasn't a cardigan.

I said I may have been speeding, if I was it was not more than 5 miles an hour.

I am over 40 and have two small kids, I know what it's like to see someone whiz through the hood, but this is not like that.

Rural road, large lots (little crapshack houses where this guy followed me from though), no kids playing, hardly any traffic ever.

Barney has no business attempting to pull a stranger over at night and was fortunate that I was not an ass and was in a pretty good mood. If I had wanted to make an issue of it I could have simply driven right into my driveway, gotten out and stomped a mudhole in his ass, or even shot him in the face a little and either way still have been well within my rights.

I acted in my best interest and his, if you do not see that you might just be that little man with a chip on his shoulder that feels like he has a right to tell strangers how to act (armed strangers, at night, on the side of the road no less).

round here, cars flying down the neighborhood roads get pelted with footballs, basketballs or whatever kind of ball might be in reach.

"whoops, our bad, missed the catch, sorry bout that huge dent in the side of your ride. I bet if you had been doing the speed limit, you couldn't have caught it".

Usually doesn't take more than once.

Nope, I would not have pulled into your driveway. Just would have had a pic of your plate and a GPS of your speed. You already admitted you were wrong. That's all.

And what do you think you would do with those damning bits of evidence?

Speaking of, how would you capture a GPS reading of his speed?

why, he would politely ask me to let him sit in the car with me so his GPS could read my speed.

idiot, the police would laugh their ass off at you if you tried to report that crap.

And to the ballthrowing moron, I will lay money that I have a ten times better chance of getting my police report of the dent to get me a payout from your homeowner's than you do of getting me a ticket.

and I in no way believe you have the balls to do it in the first place.

Maybe its just me but I have to think that throwing something at an occupied motor vehicle is a more serious offense than is speeding. Oh wait, maybe I am not the only one http://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/...n%2019#0790.19

I had a drunk accuse me of speeding on a residential street. He was barbecuing in his drive way and threw a beer at my van. I stopped to talk to him and he dared me to call the cops, he said I was the one in trouble.

I drove a little way down the street and called the cops. He ends up being arrested for drunk in public and interference with a vehicle or something like that. He lived 2 houses from a stop sign so there was no way I was going 40 MPH as he claimed. I think some people are just brain damaged.

You're kidding of course. And still running DOS? Seriously though, be in front of me and I can take a pic of you and your speed. I'm just living in the modern world.

I don't know if it is even worth going local with a photo of the GPS and speed and plate. It probably is better to send that directly to the DMV. They would probably permanently revoke a driver's license with evidence that solid.

Again, how would you measure his speed?

dammit TBO, if a citizen is in Hot Pursuit of a hardened speed demon you know damn well he has immunity from traffic laws!

seriously though, stop making sense. You are impeding the right of all the neighborhood wannabes to act like billy badasses. They are just trying to help you do your job after all......

Would you care to render a professional opinion on "accidentally" throwing something at a car?
