It did come to a rest facing rearwards. We shouldn't really draw any conclusions from one test shot. It could be the velocity was too low or even a rare statistical anomaly. In any case, I'll definitely repeat a lot of these tests.

It is important to remember, though, that water typically shows the absolute most possible expansion/upset/fragmentation possible with a particular bullet. I've seen bullets penetrate LESS through water than through gelatin.

Personally I'd love to see some more xtp stuff.... Very curios if it can be a reasonable 10mm sd projectile or if its just going to fight to expand too much.

I believe the 180 gr XTP is a good choice. Other folks have gotten good expansion from it and it performed well in my own test. As I mentioned, I'll probably revisit most of these tests and make sure there are multiple shots each time, but I expect the 180 gr XTP to be one of the best performers.
