I called both of my US Senators. Anti lead slug regs are simply stupid, those slugs present no safety risk whatsoever to the public. It's simply a slimy effort to make shooting too expensive for 99% of the population to participate in.

This is why I don't see bands on guns coming down the pike in the near future. Just regulate the ammo. As Chris Rock said, "If bullets cost $5 each, won't be much shooting going on."

Or the criminals who want to do all the shooting won't buy their ammunition at the store. How do you think the felons get automatic weapons? Doesn't happen very often, but it happens occasionally. Just because it's illegal or expensive, doesn't mean it can't be gotten for cheap.

Making it more expensive, or illegal, only keeps it out of the hands of law abiding citizens. The criminals will still be able to get it without too many difficulties.

SB 3525, Sportsmen's act of 2012 was passed by a wide majority in the House version, was give "cloture" by a very wide margin in the Senate so it appears it will come to a vote shortly and looks likely to succeed.

This bill will prohibit the EPA from regulating lead in ammunition among other things, a step in the right direction. If a large majority of House and Senate members feel that way, it would seem that the imposition of large taxes on ammo is unlikely to pass either house of Congress. Don
