It's a Cadillac compared to that piece of junk Charger they let me try when it first came out. Drove it from about 5am until lunch and was done with it.

Chargers are small. The cv cars are larger but when they get lots of miles they get problematic and have some safety issues. That car looks relatively clean inside. Where is the donut box? Real cop cars are supposed to have donut boxes strewn about.

The Charger looked nice from the outside, and...well, that's where it ended. About the only thing it did better than the CV was handle better (didn't lean as bad on sharp turns).

I'm kind of OCD about keeping vehicles clean...I'll eat in one if I have to, but all trash goes back into the bag it came in and then out of the vehicle.

So now he just needs to tell us what county again. I narrowed it down to these four.

That is the department/date that lost 2 Swat type cops, that he appears to be talking about.

Can we come back to this for a minute? I realize I was cold before, but here's what's got me stuck in trying to give you the benefit of the doubt.
Alexandria, LA is in Rapides Parish. None of those 4 mentioned that you agreed we were getting somewhere border Rapides, and the nearest is 2 hours away.
You said you were at the shooting, but you never confirmed whether you worked for any of those 4 earlier (though you hinted at it), for a bordering parish (which wouldn't fit with your Sheriff being there 16 years), or drove at least 2 hours (OK, less lights and sirens), through another county, and into Rapides (not impossible, but pretty far-fetched).
If you don't trust anybody else, PM a mod. Give them some sort of proof (in the morning if you have to wait for your daughter to wake up to get your gear to take a picture with "your face" and "your duty belt" in the same unaltered photo - apparently we have people that will know), and clear it up for us.
ETA: At the very least, a simple yes or no, do you work for one of the previous 4 Parishes mentioned? I know a black-and-white answer isn't your type of thing, but I think it's worth a try...

Settle down before you have an aneurysm.
It's not one of those 4, but very close. The sheriff has served since 1999 or 2000, so closer to 14 years, that is probably why the right parish isn't on the list.
I'm West of Ascension...but that's all you're getting.

So you don't know when your cousin the sheriff started?

Your story, in my mind, has gone from this:
To this:
Why is it so hard to tell us where you work? Again, PM a mod and they will give a thumbs up.

I already answered this, far back in the thread now.
With this kind of persistence, all you guys should have 0% unsolved crimes.
No, but seriously...find another avenue of stress relief. Cop Talk is a heart attack waiting to happen.

Good thing I went for a short run today. 2 miles in 18 minutes. Not bad for a fat guy like myself. I just come here to make sure my blood pressure doesn't get too low...

I knew every chief/sheriff going into an interview, including when they started. Same with the mayor (or equivalent position). Then again, none of them were my cousin, either...
ETA: and they all were in office before hand

And that's understandable since it wasn't your cousin, but I didn't need to know. I knew approx when he took office, and that he was still in office.

Quite the inquisition taking place here. I'm surprised tantrix is even playing along.
More proof that internet forums are, apparently, very serious business.
Well, carry on with the witch hunt.

Eh...not really. I've had Netflix going the majority of this thread.
But, I'll admit it was pretty good for a while there...I don't even know how these guys find the time.

ETA- Anyway, here's the only other work-related pic I have on the phone. Last week was hot and wet, this week it's cold and dry, and next week it'll be cold and wet.

We have a similar setup with the camera.
If I may ask, where does the line from the camera feed to in your cars?
What type of system is it? Do you have an SOP for camera use?
I'm just curious. Camera utilization is strictly adhered to and enforced in my agency. We got our dash cams back in 2000.

Isnt it safe to say that based on all the news articles we have read about the "War on Wise Street" incident in Alexandria, LA that unless he is an LEO from Alexandria PD, Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office SWAT, sheriff's detective, or Louisiana State Police SWAT, (since they were the only agencies that responded/were involved) that he is definitely BS-ing you all?
Just figured I would try and help you all narrow it down, and I am bored at work today.

Don't forget Natchitoches SO. Sheriff Victor Jones was elected in 1999.
Good ol' William Earl there in Rapides Parish was first elected in 1992, left in 2008, but was re-elected in 2011.
However, ol' Tantrix, he's seasoned this 'stew' with comments that he lives in the swamp, he mentions the Atchafalaya. Problem there is the Atchafalaya is way south...BUT, did he live in Natchitoches or Rapides back in 2003 and since then moved south? Lots of ?????...

Kind of like on the internet forums - People continually flip someone off who they know is obligated to not break the rules in response. Yeah, usually that type of stupidity eventually yields the rewards that are earned.
And then there are those trying so hard to be offended that they're imagining things that haven't even been said in a thread.

I can say that no SpecOps operator would give true intel to a civilian. If he did, he's in violation of an NDA. Even if the operation was over and would hit the news in 6 months. I'm still covered by an NDA even though it's been years since I was in the military. I will always be covered by it. There are some things I still can't confirm even though I've seen it on TV shows. It's because of how I know it. Not tooting my own horn at all, just observing. If your friend is really giving you that information, then you need to talk to him and tell him to stop before he gets in trouble.
I've pretty much stayed out of this thread, mostly because the pages add up considerably in a few hours and it takes forever to read it. I realize that you don't want to provide your bona fides because you don't feel the need to. However, it would be the easiest way to show what's up. I don't actually see how you could have your magazine pounch horizontal and your taser at a cant and fit it on your belt. I can barely fit everything on mine with it all vertical. Do you have stuff along your back? I choose to keep my back relatively clear, which is why I probably don't have room everywhere else.
Here, we have Sheriff Deputies who do civil document service (lawsuits, evictions, etc) as opposed to being a traditional road deputy. They still have full sworn powers, but don't really have police experience. Is this off base for your experience?
