I live in a rather smaller apartment, and unless I want to attach a press to the kitchen table, reloading is out of the question. However, I am still always looking for some hot ammunition. Recently, I've been shooting a good deal of .45 Super from Glock 21 (LWD barrel, 22lbs recoil springs, etc.). At first, I purchased ammo from Buffalo Bore (255 gr. hardcast). However, at over $50 a box, this was getting a bit cost prohibitive. I since have found Underwood Ammo's .45 Super to be great and about $15 cheaper than Buffalo Bore! I'm digging the 185 gr GDHP. It has some serious zip, plus I was holding 5 rds to about 2.5 inches at 25 yds (a better shot could have tightened it up, I'm sure). Gonna take the Glock and a mag of Super's to a hog ranch (yeah, game ranches are kind of lame but its all pork in freezer). Anyway, I find Underwood to be producing a great product and at a reasonable (considering my other options) price.

You can get a Lee Hand Press or screw a single stage or LCT press to a piece of wood and clamp it to the kitchen table with a non marking clamp. Remove when finished. Living in an apartment can be a pain but is no reason that you can't reload.

There is a lot of info down in the reloading section. Nothing wrong with buying ammo but you get more for your money by reloading your own.

I use a press screwed to a 2" piece of 2x10, with a length of 2x4 screwed on edge down the middle of the underside as a cleat. I then clamp it in a Black and Decker Workmate. The Workmate then folds and goes in the closet when I'm not using it.

I agree with dkf... " no reason that you can't reload."
Some years ago now I was in the same boat. I began to shoot in competition and man was I going through the store bought ammo. Started reloading and haven't had to buy any factory ammo for almost 8 years now.

Even if it takes you some time to get started, reloading is far better than searching for the best price on store bought ammo (which isn't that good of a price to begin with).

I feel the same way that you do about Underwood. I do not handload every caliber and quite frankly there are some rounds where Underwood achieves more velocity than I can, so it is nice to have them around.

Hey all. Been reloading for a few months now with a Lee Handheld Press. Only loading .45 ACP but its going great. Awesome investment.

Thats great. You got started just in time, right before the madness started. Components, dies and presses are harder to find now than a couple months ago.
