This is why marijuana was made illegal,
http://www.drugwarrant.com/articles/...juana-illegal/
Corporations and government scratching each other's backs with money and power (plus lot's of opportunity for propaganda against those pesky brown people) brought us to this and the same thing continues to this day. If there was a way to put billions in the right pockets and increase government power by making tomatoes illegal then they would do it in a heartbeat. They have bigger fish to fry now like taking control of the internet like they've been trying to do.

Alcohol is legal, but its not legal to drink and drive, so why would it be legal to smoke and drive if marijuana was made legal?
I think there is something wrong with your brain.

Oh yes they do. The Federal Leviathan regulates everything.
Here is just one.

Anyone have a good memory? Remember a long long time ago when the govt started in on milk? Why would they make raw milk illegal if milk is legal? Now it is illegal to suck on a cows udder.

Sorry my friend......but that's sort of a "silly" statement IMO. Just who gets to state which laws are and which laws aren't, eh?
Somewhere there will be someone who feels murder laws are "silly" ya know? Are we to allow them to disregard those laws because they feel that way? Not hardly me thinks.
|
So a group of old men looking out for their own interests decide every aspect of your life for you? I guarantee there are many laws you've broken either willingly or unknowingly (but unfortunately for you ignorance is no excuse) and you've not suffered the slightest inconvenience for it.
SOME laws are good but others, like being required to fire a gunshot whenever you cross an intersection, are just plain stupid. SOME laws are for our own good and some are for the good of the very few at our expense. I trust myself to decide which is which and I know you do the same.
Complete and total respect for "THE LAW!!!" whatever it may be is flat out retarded.

Regulations are for business purposes. If you sell your tomatoes to the public or export them, then sure they can regulate that.

Because they don't get their taxes from you if John down the road is buying his milk from you with cash. Just more fed interference.

I hate to tell the Bob Marley institute but they wasted their money. One of the chief arguments for legalizing drugs is that it would eliminate the other crimes associated with drugs.

I have to say, the very poor quality of the anti-legalization arguments doesn't boost their cause any.

The same reason they regulate making your own liquor (ie moonshine).
Assuming that it has no ill effects I don't care if it is legal or not. I would, however, put the same restrictions on it that are on alcohol (age minimum, can't drive while under the influence, etc).

Interesting perspective, it's similar to how I look at it. You can have a garden, with countless flowers, vegetables, herbs, etc...but if 1 of those plants that happens to sprout is a marijuana plant...you're now in the business of marijuana cultivation, and a criminal.

Here is one that MANY MANY MANY people in our state violate:
C.R.S. 42-4-711 (1) The driver of a motor vehicle traveling through defiles or canyons or on mountain highways shall hold such motor vehicle under control and as near to the right-hand edge of the highway as reasonably possible and, except when driving entirely to the right of the center of the roadway, shall give audible warning with the horn of such motor vehicle upon approaching any curve where the view is obstructed within a distance of two hundred feet along the highway.
I have never heard anyone honk their horn if they cant see 200 feet.

Really? You read the entire text of that law in 7 minutes. Impressive.
If I give my neighbor a couple of dollars for a bushel of tomatoes he grew in his back yard, he is now considered by the FDA to be a "very small business" and those regulations would apply.

Public safety.....
As if they need a reason.
Point is, if you tolerate them seizing unconstitutional power in one place.....

I have read articles from some of these pot advocates that say they can function fine unlike alcohol users. Sorry if your so anal that you live to pray on any post that don't 100% provide you with a Hooked On Phonics explanation. No is the answer to your next post asking me to provide a link. I don't have time to sit here and start reading on this ridiculous topic to provide you with proof of my post as I don't really care if you agree with me or not.

So how about a half dozen pot plants in my garden for personal use.
You getting it yet?

I read through your ramblings and still couldn't find the explanation of why driving stoned would suddenly become legal if marijuana was legalized.
Care to try again?

Actually many alcoholics feel they can drive fine while drunk. Then that tree jumps out in front of them...
Or mommy and her three kids come along in their minivan...
I just can't see the government allowing people to use MJ in instances where they cannot use alcohol. However, I would like it "spelled out" in law before I would vote to legalize it.
Personally I don't care. I don't use it and have no intention of using it.

Agreed, if it's spelled out in B&W that's fine with me. I have 2 daughters and just worry 24/7 over them, I can't be there 24/7 like I wish I could.
