If not for cognitive dissonance, liberals would have no cognition at all.

Pray tell, what else is new under the Sun?

A liberal is not pro gun just because he has an old rusty side by side shotgun and his dad's old deer rifle. I think that's what that website is about.

They don't like AK47ASSAULTMACHINEGUNWEAPONS with things that go up.

Yea, this is turning into a real commie site, too bad. But then again for the most part this site has always been filled with people who are new to guns and would not know how to completely disassemble there own weapon but profuse knowledge on things they know nothing about.

There are plenty of dem/liberal/socialist whatever who would like to see all guns in the country removed from civilian ownership. They honestly think that if the guns all go away we will suddenly live in a much nicer, safer society.
So, compared to that bunch, they are pro gun. But less pro-gun than we are.

This is the problem, merely having a gun doesn't make you progun. This is a case where there is no grey, there is no compromise, because to do loosens the foundation of our right. There is no reasonable gun control. As long as there are criminals and governments that do not listen to the electorate, there is no reasonable gun control.

If a plan exists to wrest one right away and is successful, a blueprint exists for the disolving of the other rights. A right, by the way, can not be legislated away, only a privilege can.

We know how Obama is about our gun rights! Romney pushed for tough gun laws As Govenor! That's one reason main stream republicans like the Bush family won't support him! To far left and to far right what are we gonna do ??? We're going to unite against those who try to divide us because our Freedom is on shaky ground!!! Brothers and sisters lets stand together because the machine will divide us ! United we stand divided we fall

Not every democrat is cut from the same cloth. My dem senators are extremely progun:

Quote:
"The bottom line is that all law-abiding citizens have the right to bear arms - whether it's for hunting in the great outdoors or for protection. This bill cuts through the red tape and makes sure law-abiding citizens with valid concealed carry permits can exercise their Constitutional right in other states," said Baucus, who has an A+ rating from the National Rifle Association.

"Citizens aren't immune from crime when they cross state lines. S. 2188 will allow Right-to-Carry permit holders to protect themselves and their loved ones should the need arise while traveling across state lines," said James Baker, NRA's director of federal relations. "The NRA thanks Senator Max Baucus for his support of this important self-defense legislation."
Quote:
Standing up for Montanans’ Second Amendment rights, Senator Jon Tester today successfully blocked government funding from being used to advance the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.
Tester’s bipartisan amendment, which unanimously passed the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee, prevents spending to advocate for or agree to any treaty provision that would that would restrict Americans’ gun rights.
Quote:
Montana’s U.S. Senators Max Baucus and Jon Tester today pushed the nation’s top firearms administrator to halt a plan to enact unnecessary gun reporting requirements. In a letter to Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Acting Director Kenneth E. Melson, Baucus and Tester issued a stern warning against “bypassing the transparent legislative process” to encroach upon Second Amendment rights.
Quote:
In 2008, Jon led a bipartisan effort to push the U.S. Supreme Court to strike down Washington, D.C.’s long-standing ban on gun ownership. The Court agreed and found the restrictions unconstitutional (Heller v. District of Columbia).
A year later, Jon led a successful bipartisan effort to convince the Supreme Court to strike down state and local government restrictions on gun ownership. Jon filed a 59-page brief with the Court that had the signatures of 309 members of Congress — more than any friend-of-the-court brief in U.S. history. The Court struck down the restrictive gun laws in a decision Jon called “a victory for all Americans” (McDonald v. City of Chicago).
Jon held the Defense Department’s feet to the fire when the Department was accused of selling reloadable brass ammunition shells directly to private companies, instead of putting them to a public bid. Jon confronted the Department, pointing out that the law required a public bid so individuals and small companies could purchase the brass. Within hours, the Defense Department changed its policy.
Lol...I shoot a LOT of that brass, remanufactued right here in the beautiful bitterroot valley. I could go on....but I will only add that I too voted for gary johnson.

Sorry, but my problems with liberals is that they want to shove their beliefs down my throat and if i don't agree I'm a hate mongering right wing extremist.... You can't stand for rights if you don't respect the rights of others to disagree.....

Of course you can. As others have pointed out, not everybody is a single-issue gun rights voter. As unsavory as some may find it, one can be pro gun, but have that outweighed by other issues they care about.

Not everybody neatly aligns with the platform of one party. If a woman is pro choice, but votes Republican, I don't see that anybody has the right to tell her that's she's not really pro choice.

I am pro choice, support gay rights, want religion out of government, but I'm also fiscally conservative, want a smaller government, and want to maintain my gun rights. Obviously I have to compromise on multiple issues in order to vote for one of the Big 2 parties, but that doesn't mean that I don't care about the other issues.

For this election I'm voting Romney as the not-Obama candidate, but it really is a matter of from which bowl of poo you wish to eat.

I know I'm jumping in late, and that this was directed toward Frizz, but I think if that ever happened, the situation would dictate how we would react. The first few would probably still be in shock that a confiscation was actually taking place and give them up. A few might not be so peaceful and people would get hurt/killed (mostly civilians).

What would happen next? I don't know, but let me turn it around. How would you treat that same "young kid" that knocks on your door right after you watched him gun down your neighbor for standing up for his constitutional rights?

Do I think it would come to that? I hope not. I hope that those tasked with enforcement would eventually stand up against unconstitutional orders. The problem, in my mind, is that it's not like they're being told to "take all guns" or "limit all speech." No, the strategy of the gun banners is to take just a few guns, then a few more, then a few more, until they're all gone. At first, the restrictions on AR- and AK-style weapons would seem reasonable to people like you, and to those enforcing the restrictions. They might even get you to go along with the next round or two of bans as well. By the time you're ready to put your foot down, all you're left with is a single-shot 22LR. Good luck defending what's left of your rights with that.

I agree. I don't care who "they" send, why that person (or persons) is in the position they're in, not what they believe. They're here for my guns, and that's what matters to me.

I believe the mistake a lot of people make is thinking thatthe gun issue is a legislative one. PresidentObama and the left have made it quite clear that if Obama gets reelected hewill appoint leftist judges to the Supreme Court, the left (probable the HolderJustice Dept.) will quickly bring a case involving gun ownership and 2ndamendment rights to the court and the Supreme Court will vote to allow gun bansand revoke 2nd amendment rights, and that will be that. No appeal, no second opinions and nothingcongress can do about it. Then we willget to listen to that all too familiar refrain “I never thought that wouldhappen” from a host of liberal gunowners that helped bring it about, but it will be too late.

Like people of the Jewish faith supporting hitler.

The poster of that is exactly correct when it comes to this issue.

Course, libtards are an elistist group. It is ok for them to have wealth but nobody else. Freedom of speech, etc is ok for them but the rest of America is too stupid to exercise such rights.

They will be screaming the loudest "why doesn't somebody do something" when they come for their guns.

It is funny how some people need to follow a political party like lemmings.

Pro Gun Hunters who support Republican candidates that reduce the size of Game Lands and let companies develop more forest.

Liberal Musicians whe supported Al Gore even though Tipper Gore pushed for more censorship in music.

Pro Auto Union liberal who support a president who gave money to GM, and GM used the money to build more factories overseas.

Republicans who say they want a President like Reagan, and not Obama, because Obama wants Amnesty for illegals, negotiates with terrorist and gave taxpayers money to a Car company, even though Reagan gave money to Chrysler, gave arms and money to the Iranians during Iran/Contra, and gave millions of illegal mexicans amnesty.

And those Republican "so called" conservative voters who want to vote Libertarian, but have no idea who the candidate is or what he stands for. They are just sick of voting for another RINO,and moderates in there party, so they are going to vote for the Libertarian, Gary Johnson who was a long time Republican governor and joined the Libertarian party less than a year ago.

Johnson biggest issue is.....legalizing pot and Same Sex Marriage. He has flip-flopped issues like abortion, and immigration . Today he is pro-choice and wants looser immigration laws. Also this 10 month Libertarian champion of guns did WHAT exactly when he was governor of NM to make it easier for New Mexican residents to purchase or own guns

Unfortunately most people who vote in America are ill informed lemmings. That is why we get crappy candidates every year.
