It's akin to bump firing, except in this case, the recoil of the gun worked its way through the DA pull. Not too surprising considering the caliber and the girl's lack of experience (no follow through technique).

Who are these jackasses that think it's cool to have an inexperienced shooter (if she was even a shooter of any sort at all) to shoot a .500 Magnum? The stupidity of gun owners will never stop to amaze me.

fairly common or atleast not uncommon with new/inexperienced shooters and the 500.

The recoil and climb cause the gun to move enough that the trigger re-sets, and when the gun comes out of recoil, while they're trying to hold the trigger back in the full rearward position, it fires again.

this is how you get someone killed. stupid. If you have to be an idiot and let your little girl friend shoot A BIG GUN LIKE THAT so you can laugh at her......."PUT 1 ROUND IN IT STUPID!!!" I've watched this before and yelled at the computer screen for about 2 min. afterwards. I've seen this done with a 44 mag myself with someone that can't handle the recoil.

C'mon. One over the berm isn't a big deal. . . as long as it isn't my car getting hit. Lol

I have a 686 with a very worked over slick trigger. My brother did that with some 158gr JHPs I had handloaded.

Not good, not funny. That second round went out at about a 45º elevation.

I agree with the comments, but she is still quite a girl to have controlled the revolver (and herself) as well as she did.

No. The 2nd bullet left that barrel at about 75 degrees off the horizontal.

Here is the muzzle position right after the 1st shot...

Saw a video a while back of a guy robbing a bank or something. This same thing happened to him, except the gun was curled back a bit farther than hers was on the second shot. He gone.

Like fnfalman was saying, people might need to think about that before letting people shoot guns that are way too much for their experience level.

New shooters with powerful rounds get ONE cartridge loaded in the weapon.

Certainly a danger for any small aircraft in the area.
