Recently I got a pretty funny 'spoof' ad for HF. I also got a HF flyer in the mail with a 25% off any item coupon.

Last week I went to my nearest HF and bought a new 6# splitting maul with a fiberglass handle - got the 25% off AND a free 9-cell LED flashlight. Both work fine.

I remember a HF thread a few years ago - a guy used HF angle grinders in his work. Said they were so cheap he had to try one. He was still waiting for it to die. Is it as good as Milwaukee or Dewalt? No. I have a 10amp Dewalt - I have used it this past year - probably twice.

Point being, HF is not all bad. Not all good, but not all bad.
