Go back and look at what really happened. Bethlehem Steel went bankrupt due to two things.......

1.). Pisspoor management (more interest in short term profits )

2.). Unable to compete with cheap imported steel. Big George removed all tariffs on imported steel and then gave "Most Favored Nation" trade status to China which imported cheap 2nd rate steel to the USA.

On top of all this the infrastructure at Bethlehem Steel was so outdated that it was beyond being repairable.
Those steelworkers voted lock-step Democrat but they were betrayed.

The Democrats did not stop the dumping of imported steel. In fact it was the Democrats that pushed NAFTA.

The Democrats are no longer the Party of the working man.

The Democrats are now the Party of welfare, illegal immigrants and socialized medicine.

Ironically when they built the gambling casino next to the rusting Bethlehem blast furnaces, they were delayed due to a worldwide steel shortage.

What kind of protections/ bailouts/ stimulus/ scams would you have given them?
Predatory steel dumping did them in and the Democrats were supposed to enact protective tariffs to save their jobs.

Before the income tax, the US Federal Government was funded primarily by import tariffs and somehow we survived, grew and prospered.

The Federal Government not only protected us militarily but economically.

Should we really be competing with $1 per day child labor with no environmental regulations?

When steelworkers were getting gold plated healthcare and pension, they were not asking me to pay for their benefits via the FEDGOV like now with Obamacare.

Gee, Reagan allowed Japan to import steel without a tariff. So how were the Dems suppose to stop this from happening? The only controlled the House at the time.

No, but Romney thinks the American worker should have to compete with them.

+1!
Piss poor management is why B.S. went out of business.

I would assume the Steelworkers part gave it away.

Next time I see a sticker on a stop sign, should I think that perhaps it is officially endorsed by the Dept of Transportation?

No, because that's not private property.

all he was doing was cleaning up the vandalism. I guarantee the bank didn't put it there.

Can you say FEDERAL REGULATIONS
Same thing that is putting coal fired electric generating plants out of business; same thing that is shutting down oil refineries and preventing new ones from being built, same thing that is preventing the pipeline from Canada.........

I had a Bush for President sign in my front yard the first time he ran. One morning I found the frame all bent to hell and the sign ripped into little pieces. I won't put political stickers on my truck 'cause I don't want some liberal moron 'keying' my truck thinking that I might endanger their obama-phone.

You're exactly tight and you can tie most, if not all, of that to the EPA and their gross abuse of power (which the libtards support).

Rip it off a dispose of it, what I would have done. Why let the bank know? Take care of it yourself and move on I say.
