I have seen them before on MKII.
Assuming bull barrel, a good gun smith can do it. Drill & tap.

I thought I saw them as well. I just never saw the rail for sale.

Thanks

- slower to reload than a pistol

- most malfunctions render a revolver inoperable compared to most malfunctions with a pistol that can be cleared by simply racking the slide

Revolver in .40S&W;
- requires either half moon clips or full moon clips which are similar to using a pistol magazine but the clips are much easier to misplace or break not to mention they are very rare...

... so what are you thinking? Or maybe it is the only handgun you own... Don't get me wrong, I'm not bust'n your balls or nothing, I'm an really curious.

Glock 17L, I shoot it the best, have the most mags & ammo for it. The long barrel maximizes the performance of the 9mm ammo, the long sight radius gives me the best aiming potential and it still maintains the legendary Glock reliability.

I have given this some thought and discounting the Zombie scenario this situation would likely happen on the way to work or back or during work, unless you are unemployed or work from home.
It is highly unlikely that you have time or opportunity to pick what you want or the quantity you want in regards to ammo and guns.

So going with what I always have with me on me or in the car, I would have my S&W SW99 in .45 acp 2 extra mags and a box of 50 rounds in the car a backpack with a couple of days worth of supplies and a week worth of meds.
I also carry a change of outdoor cloth and boots in the trunk as I don't want to encounter the TEOTWAWKI in shirt and tie. LOL
I have been using and carrying my SW99 for some time and I'm very confident and proficient with this gun even though it is on the larger side of carry guns but I'm a pretty good size guy so I can hide it well.
So this is most likely what I have to use in the TEOTWAWKI situation which is probably as much or more then most people will have in this situation.
Now if I can make it home everything will change but then I also would not only pack one gun.

Sorry, the G34 has it all over the G17L.

Dude, the world already ended, you don't have to launch any more 10mm ICMB multiple launch and reentry nuclear tactical warheads to make your point.

With everybody packing 9mm, there won't be any ammo left in short order. Sans ammo the 17L might function as a better wacking tool than the 34.

You're right, maybe I better go with the HK45 instead. Wouldn't want to double down on TEOTWAWKI.

Far from ideal as it really depends on the situations you're going to have to deal with. From a survival point of view, a 22lr is logical and of my 22's I'd take one of the P22's because I have a lot of mags and it is easily surpressed. From a defense standpoint, I like the capacity and accuracy of my P99's but for concealibility I'd take the P99c AS 9mm because it can also accept the larger P99 mags. From a total concealment point and easy of carry with power, I'd take my 340PD.

If I had no idea what scenario I'd encounter, I'd probably lean to the 340PD. It's far from ideal but the light weight, small size and .357/.38 capability allow for concealability and power combo like nothing else.

The Glock 26 I usually carry as it is.

If you don't pick your carry gun for this, you aren't carrying the right gun.

As much as I love my HK45 and the .45 round, Im taking my Glock 17 in this scenerio. Lighter ammo, higher capacity. I have bunches of magazines. 17, 19, and 33 rounders. 9mm would be easier to carry, and probably easier to find out and about. If you've ever picked up 1000 rounds of 9mm then 1000 rounds of .45 there is a HUGE difference.

Maybe Id insead take my Glock 22 Gen4. Then I could hunt down 9mm and .357 sig barrels for more ammo availability. That would probably be a better scenerio for scavanging for ammo.

I can tell you from shooting matches, the difference between lugging around 300 rounds of .45 ACP vs 300 rounds of 9mm is VERY noticeable.
