Walther P99 AS first gen
Found one at a pawn shop. Has the silver slide (not stainless), black frame, original box, three backstraps, Tru-dot night sights (not sure how bright), and two Mec-Gar mags - one of them 10-round, and one of them 16-round.
All for $399. Good deal?

Try the trigger. A friend has an early P99 and the trigger pull is tough in all of the AS modes. Not at all what I read about on the internet.

Price is very good, just make sure the gun is in good conditions...

The double-action trigger is heavy. But the single-action trigger is light and sweet. That's the thing about these P99s - you have the same action as a hammer-fired gun in a striker-fired gun.

I sold my first generation P99 for $300. Perhaps too low, but I never liked the trigger.

I've got no experience with the Walther, but I absolutely love my SW99 and from what I've been told the Walther may be even better. I'd say the price sounds good, and you'd be getting a lot of gun for that kind of money assuming that it is in good shape. I say go for it.

Perhaps I did not make myself clear.
On THIS PARTICULAR P99, the trigger pull is heavy in all the AS modes. Not just the DAish stroke.
Surely there must be some better ones out there, I read about them all the time on the internet. But not THIS ONE.
Also, I shot a very early one at the vendor's bay of a major match. It was very sensitive to trigger finger placement. Get your finger too high on the trigger and it would not pull at all. I see they have since relocated the pivot pin.
