Anyone else buy an awesome 1911 and never shoot it?
I've had my No Name for about 2 mos and I've only shot a box of ammo thru it. Thought I'd shoot it more but it's sat in the bag it came in. With all the stuff I've got going on I don't know when I'll have time to shoot it. I've put it up for sale. Though, if I was smart I'd hold on to it cause I imagine GI prices are only going to go up. Anyone else sell a gun they lusted over for months after only having it for a short time?

I had Teddy Jacobson build me a Custom 1911. He had not built many. He has worked on 1000s.
I shot it about 10 times. It was superb.
I took it back to him to put back in brand new shape. It has sat in the safe since then. Oiled regularly and admired only.
Not sure when and if I will shoot it again. I will someday.

I have plenty that don't get shot much, not as many as bac1023, but only really shoot 3 of them regularly.

1945 Remington Rand 1911a1, all original parts, 95% finish......I ran five 7 round mags through it after purchase, just to ensure it was 100% functional. It is, so it'll sit in the safe a few years before it's fired again.

I only have a couple I don't shoot, but some others rarely get shot.
I just don't get to the range enough.

I only own shooters at this point with the only exception (non-1911) being an S&W M29 that belonged to my father. I do plan to shoot it someday in his honor.

I don't shoot my 1911s at all. One customized SA and one full custom. I just don't care for thumb safeties.

I rarely shoot my Yost Signature. I have shot it though. If I didn't ever shoot it at all, I may as well save the money and just buy a picture of one.

I shoot all my custom 1911s too.
I don't shoot my Valtro, 1967 Colt National Match, USFA, and my AMT Hardballer.
None have ever been shot and they will stay that way. The Hardballer isn't a collector's item, but it is the first stainless 1911.

I probably wouldn't shoot half of your damn 1911's. I don't think I would have time to shoot half of your damn 1911's.

Well, I find my 1911 is the one that doesn't get shot. For one reason, the ammo prices. The second is that I really hate cleaning it. I know some love it. But, the simplicity of my CZ's and others just make it easier when you have to find 2 hours simply to shoot. The wife isn't too happy when I get home and say I have to clean all my guns after I've left her at home w/ the kids.
