New Glock guy in VA

Hello everyone. Brand new here, and I'm excited to share my limited knowledge with everyone I can, and gain all the information I can from everyone willing to share it.

A little about me: I'm ex-military, in college, and CC every day - 100% of the time I can. I feel confident about my Glocks and how they work. I'm sure I can always learn more, and that's my goal.

See you guys around!

Lynchburg Arms has an indoor Glock (GSSF) competition. The next series begins 9/9/12. PSS Range in Roanoke has a similar series beginning in October. Shoot 2 of the 3 matches and your name will be entered in a drawing for a new Glock.

Ally you need is a Glock and 50 rounds of ammo. Match fee is $15.00 and GSSF membership is $35.00 for the first year. membership allows you to shoot in any GSSF indoor or outdoor match. Closest outdoor matches are Morganton, NC in April and Beckley, WV in August.

If you need armorer work done, I'm in the Roanoke area.

I've always seen the signs at the Lynchburg shooting range, but never really asked any details about it. That seems like an awesome deal, and I bet it's tons of fun.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, how did you become an armorer? I'm interested in taking the course and learning what they have for me. I already believe I understand how all of the separate parts interact with each other, and how to diagnose problems, but it would be great to get more info.

You must be a FFL, Law Enforcement, or GSSF member to enroll in an Armorer's class. The 8 hour class costs $195.00 and includes lunch, Armorer's Manual, Glock tool and orange inspection cover. Your certification is good for 3 years, and allows you to buy most parts directly from Glock, at a discount, and purchase two Glocks at law enforcement price. A G17 is $398.20 plus $10.00 shipping to your FFL.

I am presently working on getting a class at PSS Range & Training in Roanoke for January or February 2013. Class size limit is 33. All you bring to class is a pen, safety glasses and an open mind. No firearms or ammo. Check www.glocktraining.com for weekly updates to the schedule.

The First Fall indoor match at Lynchburg is Sep 09. The first in Roanoke is Oct 07. All you need is 50 rounds per entry. There is no drawing from a holster or speed reloads. No moving around either. Easy to shoot, hard to win.

I'll PM you my E-mail address and phone number.

This is what I've heard, but I've also heard that Glock sometimes makes exceptions for civilians every once in a blue moon if they have extra class space.
