Hello from Texas With a Question
Hello,
I am a retired Navy commander and just purchased my new G23 G4. Have not fired it yet. But happy to be a member here.
My question is I have loaded all 3 13rd clips and each one has the #4 peep hole indicating empty. Is this a defect?
Thank you,
Newsanno

No. Leave the magazines fully loaded for several days; and things should settle in. Besides as the magazine unloads that, 'empty' hole should change. Look at the other, 'witness holes' too. You might discover another one to be empty! It has to do with the way the cartridges double-stack. (By the way, welcome to the zany world of Glock Talk.)

Arc Angel,
Thank you sir.
I have had the magazines fully loaded for a month or so and reloaded with some new CCI Blazer to see if there was a change and even though the mags have been under pressure with the rounds, but I understand the logic you mentioned with the double stack.
I still have not fired it but anxious to say the least. I guess my question like this one has been asked in the forum but have not had the luxury to read a lot here.
To thank you for your speedily reply if I may offer a tip on the Glock engravings to stand out is to rub a white crayon into the markings and wipe off. Leave's the gun looking special. If you already know this my apologies.
Thank you again mate.

You're welcome!
Don't get upset if that Blazer ammo isn't quite powerful enough to feed well. Speer, 'Lawman' or Federal, 'American Eagle' might be better choices for a new Gen4, G-23.

Thanks mate I will keep that in mind. As I purchased it for a special promotion deal only.
The other Ammo I have before purchasing the Blazer is Lawman. I will follow with your recommendation for the other type of rounds for future purchase. If I may inquire what type of ammo would you suggest for home defense?

In pistol ammo? The consensus of opinion on this board seems to favor Federal, 'HST' or, Winchester, 'Ranger T'. Other good choices, all of which I happen to use, are Remington Bonded, 'Golden Saber'; Speer, 'Gold Dot'; and either Winchester or Federal, 'Premium' self-defense ammunition.
Over the past several months I've, also, started to use Fiocchi, 'Extrema' self-defense ammo fitted with Hornady, 'XTP' bullet heads. It's very decent ammunition that doesn't have to take a backseat to any of the more expensive, 'big name' pistol ammo. Truthfully, I wouldn't want to get hit by any of the above!

Sound Advice AA about not wanting to be on the receiving end is poetic justice having been a Naval Weapons officer firing multiple Tomahawk's on the enemy is the only easy day was yesterday.
Kind Regards,

 and thanks for your service.
I've got a G22 gen 4 and fire 165gr Blazers on the range with no problems at all. No FTE, no FTF, no BTF. My HD/SD is 165gr Winchester Ranger T. I've been very happy with my Glock.

Ditto!
I second the Speer Lawman for practice, my G22 gobbled it up like candy.
For HD, really any of the above mentioned rounds are great. Myself, I'm a fan of the Winchester Ranger Bonded JHPs in 180gr.
Again, welcome to GT!
