Range Report!
OK guys, I've had 2 trips to the range with the new weapon and I absolutely LOVE it! Great feel, great grip, and the biggest thing... NO MORE CALLOUSES!!! Like I said, the main reason for doing this was to get rid of the harsh Gen 3 grip texture on the finger cutouts. It was so distracting that during a long range session I found myself focusing on the pain in my fingers and thinking, "Now this is going to hurt a bit." That thought is gone, and now I'm just thinking, "Front sight - Press!"
I like the feel of the new connector, too. The lighter, but not super light feel is great and seems to make the gun at least feel more accurate. My groups are about the same as before, but the fact is that I'm also trying some different ammo (Blazer 230 TMJ) that I got a great deal on through sgammo.
As far as the Frog Lube goes... I'm still undecided. It seems to work great on the frame and the outside of the barrel and slide. The slide and barrel are VERY slick, and I can't leave a fingerprint on the slide no matter how long I hold the gun. Clean up is pretty easy, too. The slide pretty much just wipes down, and so does the outside of the barrel.
All in all I am VERY happy with the way my G30sf turned out, and will keep trying a few things here and there after I get these new rounds dialed in. I'll keep using the Frog Lube, too, just to see how it holds up after a few months. I'll post back when I have some more range time under my belt!
