ETA: watching this press conference is a little personal for me. I've interviewed for many bordering agencies, I've been in that room for testing many times, and I have friends in responding mutual aid departments.

Damn. Cop was shot 8-9 times and tried to call off his rescue to get the other cops inside instead of saving him.
Cop injured is Lt. Brian Murphy. He's still listed critical but expected to be ok.
I thought it was really respectful that Chief Edwards allow a member of the Sikh community to read the names of the victims so they were pronounced properly.

First off, "Brian Murphy." That's a nice Irish name for a LEO. Brings back nostalgia.
Second off, why is a LT one of the first LEOs to arrive? Damn, but he must be pretty active and still wants to play cop. Kudos to him.

Google maps puts the PD 2.7 miles away (straight shot up S Howell Ave.) from the shooting. Oak Creek is 28.6 square miles. He was very likely the closest officer at the time.
