*sigh* I am so jealous. If only I had $1,200. But I sure as hell won't have that before the election. Thank God I bought my AK back when I had $; all it can do now is gain value.

For the same reason that my Norinco 56S that I bought in 1988 for $350 is now worth $1500!
Not to mention my Norinco 75- and 100-round drums that I paid $20 and $40 for, respectively, are now worth $250 and $350!

Actually--any price increases will depend on Walmart does---I was in the only Walmart around here that sells guns last week and there were 5 AR rifles plus 2 AR like .22 rifles in the spinner case.
If Walmart holds the line on price--anybody who pays $2500 for an AR is either very desparate or very stupid.

Crazy. I picked one up about three weeks ago or so after parting ways with my DPMS 20-inch. I prefer the Colt LE6920 and took it out to the range yesterday. I'm finally getting it sighted in well and am able to hit on my 15-inch target consistently with iron sights from 90 yards or so. Great gun, but I do think the dealer was feeding you BS in saying they will go up in value that much. I doubt they will. I also bought mine from Wal-Mart and paid $1096 plus tax.

Possibly. Doesn't matter anyway because it won't be for sale! You got a great deal, I paid about $120 more than you by getting it from Bud's, but it does have a LIFETIME warranty so I'm happy. I hope to get it to the range soon.

Congrats. I have been considering one of these lately too. Maybe if my boat ever sells...
OTH, the lower looks, to my eye, a little rougher than my Stag?
 
eta: the deer rollmark IS a stretch.
