.460 Rowland is bad to the bone

My gunsmith called yesterday. He fitted the .460 Rowland conversion kit to my 80 series Colt. He has tricked the gun out and fit both the match barrel and the 460 kit.

The only issue, he advised, is when he fired the second shot, it blew the front sight off.

For those that espouse watching the front sight only, it was on the floor.

No biggie. The front sight is mostly for looks anyways.

Here is my Sig 1911 Extreme fitted with the Clark .460 Rowland drop in kit attached. It might just let my Glock 20 have a rest this hunting season

Just trying to have a little fun and lighten things up a bit.
If the 460 is anything like the 45 Win Mag then it IS a hoss of a cartridge. Buddy of mine had an L.A.R. Grizzly back in the mid-'80's, thing was a brute.

I liked it better when Flipper used to just come by from time to time and call us all ball washers.

Me too. How about the guy that can turn a stock Colt into "as good as a WC" with an Emory board and 2 hours?

I miss him!

How does the Sig handle this cartridge? I am thinking of getting the Sig 1911 Stainless for this conversion.

About 3-4 years ago, a guy I know was having some trouble with an Ed Brown pistol. He talked to Ed on the phone, and naturally, the question of ammunition came up.

He replied: Unique/200-grain Hensley & Gibbs #68 style at 950 fps.

Ed's response:

"Whoa man! You're gonna break my gun!"

You may draw your own conclusions.
