XS sight help

Hoping someone can help me with the big dots i just installed on my Yugo M70AB2. Before replacing the stock sights the rifle was zeroed at 50 yds with the front sight centered in the FSB. After replacing the stock sights with XS big dot i had to push the front dot almost all the way to the left in the FSB to hit POA. I zeroed at 50 again so the distance isn't affecting it. I am shooting from a bench with sandbag. Would a canted FSB cause this? The FSB appears straight but may be a hair off to the left. If anybody has any ideas i would appreciate the help.

Are you using the same ammo and/or muzzle device? It's kinda strange that a different sight post would throw off your POI that much.

If the rifle was sighted in perfect with the OEM front sight as your describe, it doesn't have a canted front sight base. It's rather uncommon for a Yugo with a US made barrel to have canted sights. Canted AK sights are typical on rifles assembled in Romania like the WASR, original Yugo barrels, or in Russia like the Saiga.

Not being able to look at the rifle, or use a laser bore sighter to check sight alignment, I'm kind of at a loss why POI would change so much. Did you use the XS front sight block? They always look like the hole for the front sight post is off center for some reason. Other than the sight, the only thing I've found to change POI so much is the handguards.

I did use the front sight drum if thats what you mean? It sticks out pretty good to the left, ill take a picture and put it up.

I did change the handguards to wood, from the ****ty plastic ones that came on it. I also added a Jtac-47 comp instead of the stock slant brake.

I'll post those pics maybe they will help

Try installing the slant brake and checking to see if your POI changes. If not switch out the handguards and check. That is unless you got the results with the old irons with the two new pieces added.

Good call I'll try that this weekend, the new parts were added after the sight change. Which handguard typically effects accuracy?

Sent from my iPhone... which probably auto-corrected something wrong

Between the wood and polymer usually neither, but if one is tight or something it may be putting undue pressure on the barrel at the retention point. It's more likely a change in muzzle device caused POI difference.
