Not sure why it would vary by region. Instead, the state laws set the tone. And every state is different

Oh.
I keep concealed and not printing, in NY, just to avoid that issue

Welcome aboard neighbor. I am no expert but start with a Real gun belt and holster. I sweat too much for leather so Instructor's Belt with an IWB all Kydex holster for me. Can't imagine what I'd be like in the states with humidity. Check out Oregon Firearms Academy for some excellent training. They are right next door to you in Lebanon.
Good luck and stay safe,
Mike

Welcome to GT .... Two of my favorite carry guns are the G23 and G27.
Oregon's lack of reciprocity keeps me from visiting your state.

Thanks for the welcome guys!
I decided to go with the blackhawk serpa holster and also got their inner waistband leather one. I'm taking my concealed weapons class this next Tuesady and will have my application in by Friday. So hopefully I won't have to wait to long to get my permit!

Great to see another Duck on here
One word of advice is don't skrimp on your carry rig. Get a decent quality belt, and holster. Even try out different holsters to see what style/position you like best. So many people spend $600 on a gun then $10 on a crappy holster and never carry it because it's uncomfortable.
