Sweet, look forward to seeing that.

It's true what they say, ARs are Barbies for men, lol. And while it's great that there's so much available to us, to personalize & set up these rifles to our exact tastes, it's all to easy to just keep adding doo-dads and gadgets.

While lugging around that super cool looking boat anchor, it's easy to forget how light, manageable & effective the platform is in it's basic trim.

Agreed. It's my first AR and I've wanted one all my life. I've been into pistols and skeet/upland birds for 30 years or so, so I'm not a firearm noob. I bought the Colt to learn everything I can about these rifles and maybe put one together myself someday. I'll post pics next week (it's being delivered Tuesday).

Very smart way to go for your first jump into ARs. Start with a basic, but high quality rifle. Learn the platform, and go from there.

All that's left is a Troy QD socket for my sling, a new ALG trigger, and waiting on Magpul to finally release the new version of the XTM panels and the handstop kit.

Looks kinda like one of the new thorntail mounts, though I haven't really been keeping up on the latest AR accessories. I've been thinking about getting one, a little more streamlined than what I'm running now.
