With the ALG ACT out there, I don't beleive the Spike's trigger has any reason to exist. Don't get me wrong, I have never used the Spikes trigger, but for nearly the same price, I will go with the "Geissele's" ACT or QMS 10 times out of 10.

It is a very decent single stage, much better than any parts kit trigger I've tried, especially with JP springs. Good deal for budget builds for sure if you want everything in the Spikes enhanced parts kit. I run them in two rifles--one with a Spikes failzero bcg as well and recommend them. I prefer single stages and the JP trigger is the best though. I have yet to try the alg act.

I have one, a little disappointed to be honest. I have about 500rnds and the nib started flaking off the face of the hammer. Spike's said it was normal but sending me a new one anyway. I have to agree with the ALG out there I wouldn't buy it again. If I buy an ALG it would not be coated.

I have both the Spike's BT and the ALG ACT. If you are wanting a coated trigger group, get the ALG. The break is cleaner.

The "ALG Defense Combat Trigger - ACT" is a great trigger. I got spoiled with a SSA and SD-C in my 2 rifles. Building a PSA lower for my oldest son I went with the ACT and was very surprised with how smooth the pull and clean the break is.

Wow. That is disturbing, especially if it is "normal". I haven't seen any of this yet, have had mine for a couple years and love the bcg. Seeing more and more complaints on stuff that has been coated by Failzero though.

I bought mine from AIM surplus so given their relationship with Spike's I would assume it's not a knock off. It's something that probably will never affect function but I didn't expect it. I googled and found a few other cases but I don't think it's horribly common. The BCG showed no wear at all.

Here is the Spikes I got. Hammer shelf had a ridge in it, you could hear and feel it when pulling the trigger. Had to stone it to remove it.

Now you guys have me kind of concerned about nickel boron coated parts, that it might flake off. Is a nickel boron BCG a bad idea?

Personally, I don't see the need for it. Plus, almost any kind of coating or plating can (theoretically) come off.

I bought mine as a test, it wasn't horribly expensive compared to the other choices out there. Now with the tuned Mil-Spec stuff being put out by ACT I would rather have two of those NON coated triggers instead of the coated one. My BCG held up fine although it wasn't as easy to clean as some people would like you to believe. I actually thought it took more work getting it sparkling clean compared to my BCM, probably because I wanted it perfect.
