What constitutes a 'concealed' weapon regarding a pocket knife?

Mine is legal length, but if it was over the limit, and I have it clipped inside my pocket with the clip and 1" of handle showing, is that considered concealed?

What is your location? Some cities and counties have their own ordinances for knives. You will get better answers with a little more info.

Location is just under my avatar. No need for me to hide it.

If the knife was clipped on the edge of your pocket, I wouldn't try and make a charge on that. My partner and I arrested a guy the other night for DV, poss of meth and a couple other charges. On searching him, we found a double edged knife with a 4" blade that was hidden in his boot and concealed by his pants. That was added to the laundry list of charges he had.

I grew up in MO. With that being said, having a knife to whittle away a piece of wood wasn't unusual. Now though you have the folks who are carrying for one of two reasons, either to use on someone, or to defend against it. Check with County and City where you are at.

In CA, you can conceal any knife as long as it isn't a dirk or dagger. Those can be carried openly. You can't possess a switchblade with a blade over two inches, except in your residence.
