So how did that turn out? From the looks of the smoke coming out the eaves in the front, did the fire fill the attic? That can be a pain to put out. Good pictures!

I am the guy on the nozzle. After the atric flashed the other hoseline (D side) was redeployed after the second pic to the B side where it hit the attic opening. Very sucessful at knocking down a majoriry of the attic portion. In the end attic gutted (nothing up there in storage unbelievably), kitchen(back of the house) gutted, room above the kitchen gone aswell. Large amounts of smoke damage (obiously). But it will be rebuilt.

1 Engine, 1 Quint, 1 Squad, 1 Medic, Bc, and Misc Admin types is a full assignment for my dept. 2 mutual aid Engines were also dispatched. By the time they arrived the fire had been knocked down mostly.

We are a 2 station 13 people shift dept.

Scary crap the bars on the windows. We have one house in our district that has really heavy security gates. Another in the next district over (our truck response) with steel shutters. Asked our BC's several times for a plan and never get an answer.

We had a local fire fighter caught in a flashover last year - second floor and behind security/safety bars.

It is after picture 18 or 19 in this sequence that he jumped from the 2nd floor (not shown)

Took the pics and video after I got off my belly, lying on the ground at the guy's head for like half an hour waiting for him to be ready to be loaded into the Amber Lamps.

We have those, too.

Greetings,

Retired FF/PM and new to the site.
Still have a "few" pics around here...most of them are on 35mm... shooting a clean pic while she's hooked can be a real PITA. The digital camera helped a lot. As stated...have to be careful what goes up on the net.

This fire was lapping the eve of the house when we arrived. Any delay in response would have resulted in damage to the home. So how do politicians choose which stations to close?

Fire Marshal training

To carry OC you must be sprayed with OC. It is a experience to say the least.
