when every Walmart sporting goods employee for every walmart for 50 miles around, knows your voice, and face. And even the electronics folks know you, because you have to pay for ammo there too sometimes... or you recognize one of them, in a location OTHER than walmart and refer to them as your friend

Dammit! That sucks, for me. There was a cool old guy working the ammo counter last year I was shootin' the bul with reg'larly with, and he ain't around now. Invited me multiple times to shoot his Auto 5, and various NFA toys. I need to get out moar.
