Mas, what is your opinion of using Wadcutters for a self defense load in a 2" snubby? I was thinking about using wadcutters because there's a consensus that perhaps 357 Magnum loads ( 110gr, 125gr, 140gr, 158gr ) out of a 2" snubby offer no appreciable advantage over a hot 38 Spcl and, the recoil and muzzle blast from the 357's in a snubby make them not worth using. Thank you!
Unclear to me whether you mean wadcutters in a .357 Mag load, or .38 Special mid-range wadcutter loads.
I've never heard of a full Magnum factory wadcutter load, nor ever tried to load one, and I don't recommend handloads for SD/HD use.
A factory .38 Special mid-range target wadcutter load might be the best compromise for the recoil sensitive, but for the serious shooter the 135 grain Speer Gold Dot .38 Special +P gets my nod. Very dynamic load, and well proven on the street.
