40 caliber Ammo for home defense?

Good morning, Mas:

Based on both your experience and what you have heard
from various Police depts.--What 40 caliber ammo stops the BG effectively?

Does bullet weight effect how quickly (with good shot placement) a BG is stopped!

Mas-the internet is full of infornation but unless your in law enforcement and see the effect of an ammo -you really can't trust all opinions because some of it is not true!

Please recommend to me a brand & weight ammo that you have heard good things about!

This ammo will be fired out of a Sig 229 for home defense!

Thank-you Mas-Now for another cup of Java!

Sincerely Mike-USMC vet.

155 grain JHP at 1200 fps, or high-tech 165 grain JHP at 1140, would be pretty tough to beat.

best,
Mas

Ya know, Winchester Silvertip 155 grain is probably as good as any. It's loaded warm, and very accurate. I've seen five or six or more of these that have been dug out of deceased human beings, all of whom stopped their violent aggression as soon as they were shot. The bullets all expanded uniformly and went to optimum depth.

best,
Mas
